Description
  • The main instructor has all the major teaching responsibilities in the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • The Lead Teacher is responsible for leading the classes within the classroom:

  • Set the rhythm of the class, put the pressure and deadlines on the students, and make sure your cohort is on schedule.

  • Enforce the syllabus, follow it according to the platform, day by day.

  • Prepare your classes and make sure the projects, instructions, and exercises are properly explained and followed by the students.

  • Identify areas of improvement on the syllabus, tutorials, exercises, or projects.

  • Make sure students are not stuck for a long period of time (minutes instead of hours or days).

  • Lead the teacher assistants in helping you with answering questions and reviewing the exercises.

  • Explain concepts and coach students according to the academy recommendations every day.

  • Ensure students stay engaged and understand.

  • Report to the Program Manager when particular students may start losing engagement.

  • Collect attendance and report immediately when a student has missed two classes in a row.

  • Answer student’s questions on Slack (when possible).

  • Delegate coaching and questions to the TA in particular situations.

  • Give feedback about the projects being delivered.

  • Ensure the classes are being recorded.

Technical requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Professional certifications in cybersecurity such as eJPT, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience working in the cybersecurity field, with a strong understanding of industry standards, protocols, tools, and techniques.

  • Prior teaching or training experience, preferably in a secondary or post-secondary educational setting, is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.
